The Harland and Wolf shipyards in Belfast when the liner RMS Titanic was under construction. The keel was laid on 31/03/1909 and the ship was completed on 2/04/1912. Ten days later, on its maiden voyage, the liner struck an iceberg. Of the 2228 passangers and crew aboard only 705 survived.
